Rachel Gaetano (she/her)
Board Member
Rachel moved to Astoria in 2019 for a teaching job in Seaside. She taught middle and high school math for 10 years before making a career move and opened an Italian deli right across the street from The Ten Fifteen Theater. Rachel has always loved the arts, especially theater (although the last time she was in a play was in 7th grade!). Rachel has served on a few boards in town and loves giving back to the community that supports her. She is currently president elect of the Astoria Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce and joined the board of The Ten Fifteen Theater this year.
Rachel has lived in 9 different states but has never lived in one area for more than six years at a time and feels that she has finally found a home in Astoria. In her free time Rachel enjoys hiking, camping, reading, spending time with her husband, and of course, going to shows at The Ten Fifteen Theater!

Rachel Holland (she/her)
Board Member
Rachel is originally from Hawaiʻi and moved to Astoria in 2018. She went to art college in San Francisco and has lived all over the country. In high school she joined theatre just to paint sets, but ended up coming out of her shell and finding her voice there.
She’s worked with many nonprofits across Clatsop County and is passionate about fundraising for mission-driven organizations like the Ten Fifteen, whose locally created, high-quality theatre is vital to our community and keeping arts dollars going to local talent.

Cynthia Thompson (she/her)
Board Member
Cynthia is an Oregon native, born in Portland and raised in rural Clark County, WA, just across the Columbia River. She earned a BA in Communication with an emphasis on print media and graphic design from University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. While a student, she was able to spend a year in England studying drama, film and television at York St. John University and University of London. This experience cemented a love of the theater that began in childhood.
After spending 25 years in publication management and distribution in Portland, with a couple detours into custom sewing and craft fairs, Cynthia moved to Astoria in 2015. She enjoys the weather and landscapes here and gets out hiking and canoeing whenever possible. Her love of Oregon is supported by her job as Executive Director of the Lewis & Clark National Park Association, a nonprofit cooperating association in partnership with the National Park Service.

Oliver has been involved in theater since high school and holds a BA in Theatre. He works in nonprofit arts leadership at Jet City Improv, supporting community programs, volunteer engagement, and education initiatives that widen access to the stage and uplift underrepresented voices.

Paul B. Verano (he/him)
Board Member
Paul moved from Seattle to Astoria with his husband in 2019 and they quickly immersed themselves into the local culture. That includes all the amazing events, markets, music and of course, catching productions at the small theatres the North Coast offers.
Paul fell in love with The Ten Fifteen Theater and its intimate productions, which reminded him of his early days in theater. Earning his BA in Theatre and Telecommunications and Film at the University of Oregon in 1992, he went on to become the Master Electrician at the Intiman Theatre in Seattle for their 1995/96 season. He also designed lighting for many friends’ productions with Printer’s Devil Theatre, Theatre Off Jackson, Fringe Festivals, etc. He thought about joining the board of Ten Fifteen for a couple of years and felt he was finally ready to commit. He looks forward to helping create even more growth for the theater.
On a personal note, he and his husband moved to New Zealand from 2003-2005. While there Paul created The Confectional, a cheesecake bakery. Upon returning to Seattle, he opened the same store in the historic Pike Place Market. The business recently closed after an amazing 18-year run. He is slowly, opening a cheesecake and chocolate shop called Shuffle Truffles, with pop-ups around Astoria.

David White (he/him)
Board Member
A born and raised Oregonian, and a relative new-comer (blow-in) to Astoria, David recently retired from several decades in the technology industry. Determined to be a life-long learner, he's settling into this phase of life by studying the piano, composing and arranging music, catching up on reading and learning the ropes as a new Ten Fifteen board member. He recently arranged and performed a piece of music for a play under development in the Bay Area based upon Thornton Wilder's novel - The Woman of Andros.
His professional career included roles in semiconductor testing, advertising and PR account management, engineering management, business development and business strategy - most recently for Cirium, a London-based aviation data and analytics company where he developed corporate strategy and advised on a generative AI development effort.
He became a fan of the Ten Fifteen Theater shortly after moving here in 2021 and jumped at the chance to contribute as a board member.
He's enjoying the beauty of Clatsop County along with his wife Kathleen and on the lookout for opportunities to contribute to the richness and quality of life in the Astoria Community.

In 2013 Danyelle co-founded Twilight Theater Company, a nonprofit community theater located in the Kenton neighborhood of Portland, and served as the executive managing director until she and her husband (and their pups!) could no longer ignore the siren song of the North Coast.
Since moving to Astoria in 2018, Danyelle has enjoyed some time on stage with Coaster Theatre Playhouse and served a term on their board of directors. She currently serves on the board of the Arts Council of Clatsop County, and is the interim president of the Oregon Community Theatre Alliance.

Valerie Garrett (she/her)
Theater Operations Coordinator
Relocating to Astoria in late 2024 for a fresh start, Valerie is ecstatic to be surrounded by historic coastal architecture—a perfect match for her passion for historic preservation and remodeling vintage homes. Living in the UK as a teen, her life-long love of the arts was sparked on a school trip watching a lively holiday play - Pantomime Horse anyone?
When she's not catching a local performance, Valerie enjoys taking classes, hosting and showing friends around town, spending time with her super attractive pets, volunteering and adding more pins to her expanding travel map.
-
